Hell Let Loose is a multiplayer video game released in 2021 that allows players to engage in tactical combat on key battlefields of World War II. Developed and published by Team17 with assistance from Cover 6 Studios and Expression Games, the game features battles on the Western Front, North Africa, and the Eastern Front.
It was originally created by Black Matter and launched through a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2017, raising $220,000. The game launched as a Windows Early Access title in June 2019 and will be fully released in July 2021. It then launched PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in October 2021. In early 2023, the original developer sold the game to Team17, who took over all development responsibilities in January 2023.

Hell Unleashed Gameplay
Hell Let Loose offers 50 vs. 50 battles set during World War II, involving different factions including Germany, the United States, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, the German Afrika Korps and the British 8th Army. Players can form rifle squads, armored units, or recon squads to control areas on the map in two game modes: War and Offensive.
In War Mode, teams win by capturing all or most areas when the timer runs out, while Offensive Mode requires one team to capture all areas from the defenders within a time limit.
The developers emphasize communication in the game, allowing officers to use voice channels for coordination and strategy. Players can take advantage of various voice channels such as unit-only, proximity, and party, while text chat is only available in the PC version.
The game introduces an RTS-inspired metagame in which each faction has a commander who oversees team, squad, and resource management. The commander controls vehicle deployment, air strikes and supply drops, requiring resources.
Engineers can build resource nodes to increase resource production and help commanders deploy assets, but these nodes can also be dismantled by enemy teams.
