The Borg Cube in the Starry Sky
In Starfield, a player uses ship customization features to build his or her own version of the Borg cube from Star Trek. This feature allows players to design and create their own starships in the game module by module. Shipbuilders focused on finding the right balance between weight, maneuverability, and power to create a starship that could both accommodate its crew and take on its enemies.
The ship’s design is very unique and impressive, with hidden gravity drives, reactors, shields, fuel tanks and cargo bays cleverly concealed within the cubic structure. However, it’s worth noting that this Borg cube is not designed to be particularly mobile, with a low mobility rating of 36. Additionally, its cube shape obstructs the player’s view in both first- and third-person modes.
Shipbuilders in Starfield are primarily about creating functional starships to support crews and deal with threats, such as the Crimson Fleet pirates in the game’s settlement system. Some ship upgrades even allow players to hide prohibited items to avoid detection by law enforcement scanners in civilized space.

How to build a Borg cube in the starry sky?
For players who want to recreate the iconic sci-fi ship from Star Trek: The Next Generation, building a Borg cube in the stars can be a fun and challenging project. Here are the steps to build your own Borg cube in Starfield:
base:
- Start by purchasing the habitat modules that make up the exterior shape of the ship. It is recommended to choose a piece that resembles a compact square with lighting on the outside to better resemble a cube.
- The base layer should consist of a set of 4×4 Accu-Lander 11 landing gear with one landing gear somewhere in the center.

middle:
- Add an engine mount structural assembly to the base next to the landing pad. Make sure it looks similar to the rest of the landing gear to blend in.
- The second level of the Borg cube should have a B-class reactor and gravity drive to power your ship. The pieces should fit nicely into the center of the 4×4 square.
- Getting the Bridge into your 4×4 layer can be challenging. Consider Kon-Tiki B-400 parts due to their unique slim design.
- Create another 4×4 layer with structural parts and add two White Dwarf 3030 engines inside. This will allow your ship to move across the stars. Additionally, a shield generator is included on this layer for defense during space battles.

top:
- Continue to the habitat module in the third level 4×4 area.
- In this layer, place the cargo hold and fuel tanks in the central area, surrounded by symmetrical components.
- For the fourth 4×4 layer, add two more Dwarf Engines in the middle of another square habitat module.
- In the fifth level, consider adding a structural component in the center to balance the ship’s design.
- For the sixth and final layer, create another 4×4 layer and fill the squares with habitat modules to enclose the Borg cube in the starry sky.
Weapon Module:
- Once all these pieces are stacked together in their respective layers, weapons modules are added to the exterior of the ship to give it firepower.
