How to enter the abandoned ruins in “Baldur’s Gate 3”?
method one
Ancient Gate After waking up near the crashed Nautilus on the Ravaged Beach, you will find a closed Ancient Gate in the northern part of the ruins, right at the overgrown ruins teleport point (X:283 Y: 300) next to. Breaking in is not an option, but if you have a burglar’s tools, you can try using your crafty hands to pry the door open. Get ready for the challenging level 20 difficulty (DC).
Don’t worry if your lockpick breaks while trying, as there are other ways to gain access to the area outside your door. Successfully prying the door will lead you to the dank crypt’s east wing, where you can face deadly traps to obtain a magic spear.
Method Two
Hole in the Floor Head west from the Ancient Gate and defeat the three Intellect Devourers to reach the other side of the Nautilus’s wreckage. Follow the path northeast, past a trapped Mind Flayer, until you reach the roadside cliff waypoint (X:223, Y:326). From there, head east to the church entrance, where you’ll encounter a group of squabbling graverobbers.

Use your social skills to convince them to leave the area. If persuasion fails, be prepared to fight them. During or after a fight, shoot the coiled rope and throw a large boulder onto the cracked tiles, creating a hole in the floor leading to the ruins. Jump through the hole and find yourself in the cafeteria. From there, follow the instructions in the next section to enter the dank crypt.
Method three
Canteen If jumping into the black hole isn’t your first choice, head north and down the stairs to reach a closed door. Knocking on the door will initiate a conversation with Andorn, one of the attackers. Pass a DC 10 Perform or Deception check to convince him to open the door. If that fails, attempt a DC 7 Sleight of Hand check to pry open the door. Once inside, prepare to face an understandably angry Andorn.
After dealing with him, venture further into the restaurant to fight five other attackers. Note that there is a locked door on the west side of the corridor. You can either take it apart or continue south to a room with a statue and a ton of books. Behind the statue, a Perception check will reveal a skull-shaped lever that opens the locked door. Go through the locked door and find yourself in the heart of a dank crypt.
Method 4
Finally, continue east from the church entrance and follow the cliff edge to the northeast. After climbing down a short distance from the ledge, you’ll find a closed wooden hatch. Similar to the Ancient Door, successfully prying open the hatch requires a rigorous DC 20 Kung Fu check. However, with some luck and skill, it’s achievable even early in the game.
Opening the hatch will take you to the west wing of the Damp Crypt, where you’ll encounter some Soul Coins and the Wither, who are important NPCs in future events.
