Just like the first remake, this game combines real-time action with strategy and role-playing. The story takes place after the events of the first remake. You control the mercenary Cloud Strife as well as a number of other characters from the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE. Together, you are tasked with stopping the Shinra Corporation from disrupting the Earth’s vitality (the flow of life). Oh, and there’s a bad guy named Sephiroth who used to be a member of a cool group called “SOLDIER” and now he’s causing trouble.

The game began production in November 2019, even before the first remake was released. The game was officially announced in June 2022. The team that worked on the first game returned to work on this game, but with some changes in roles. Final Fantasy VII Reborn launches on PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. People loved it when it launched and critics gave it a big thumbs up!

How to put pressure on the enemy in FF7 Rebirth?

Pressuring your enemies is key to gaining the upper hand in combat in FF7 Reborn. To do this, you need to exploit their weaknesses and disrupt their attacks. Each enemy has their own stress weakness, which you can discover by using the Assess feature and reading the highlighted text on the left side of the screen.

Take the Phoenix creature for example. You can put pressure on it by interrupting its empowered fire attack. However, putting pressure on your enemies isn’t always as simple as attacking their weak points. Sometimes you need to use timed dodge or specific magic (like creatures) to effectively pressure them.

When an enemy is stressed, you’ll see the word “Pressure” above their staggered scale. This indicates that the enemy is off balance and more vulnerable to attack. Additionally, their stagger gauge fills up faster, giving you the chance to stagger them and unleash a powerful blow.

Stunning your enemies is crucial as this will make them more vulnerable to damage. The stagger mechanic doesn’t last long, so it’s important to take advantage of this opportunity to use your strongest attack.

All in all, to put pressure on your enemies in FF7 Reborn, you need to find their weaknesses and exploit them to disrupt their attacks. This will make them easily frightened, allowing you to deal significant damage and gain the upper hand in combat.

The focus of the game is real-time exploration and combat. You can roam a vast world, not just Midgar like in the first game. There are markers on the screen telling you where to go for the main story and side quests.

You can get around on foot or ride a chocobo to travel faster. Chocobos are these cool bird creatures. Combat is a combination of action and strategy. You control a set of characters and switch between them during combat. You can use physical attacks, magic, and items to fight enemies.

There’s also a mechanic called “synergy” where party members can team up for stronger attacks, but then your abilities take longer to recover. Overall, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s gameplay is all about exploration, combat, and working together to save the planet from destruction.
