honeycomb
A beehive is a shelter where certain bee species, particularly Apis mellifera and Apis cerana, live and raise their offspring to produce honey. It consists of densely packed hexagonal prismatic cells made of beeswax, forming a structure called a honeycomb. The function of these cells is to store food (honey and pollen) and provide shelter for the larvae (eggs, larvae, and pupae).
While the term “nest” is used for a colony of bees in a natural or artificial cavity, “hive” specifically refers to the artificial structure created to house the hive. Beehives serve a variety of purposes, such as producing honey, helping pollinate crops, keeping bees for apitherapy, and solving problems like colony collapse disorder. In some cases, hives are transported to various locations across the United States to promote bee pollination of crops. Several patents have been issued for different beehive designs.
How to steal a beehive in Deadly Company?
Seizing a beehive from some bees seems like a very simple task. This is something you’ve probably done in other games, and can usually be done without posing a legitimate threat to your character’s life. However, in Lethal Company, this is actually one of the hardest missions you can attempt, and you’re going to die at least a few times before you get the hang of it. The payoff is literally huge, though, so that’s all that matters, right? correct?
Beehives in the game (shown in the screenshot above) are round in shape and usually located on the ground. However, as you slowly get closer to it, you’ll realize it’s an absolute swarm of bees, and they’re throwing very angry punches. The closer you get to them, they’ll soon notice and immediately charge at you, stingers ready.
It’s generally not recommended that you try to do this on your own, as you will never be able to outrun the bees. No matter how much you try to kite them, or swing and weave, they’re faster than your character, period. They’ll swarm you and kill you quickly if you try to do this, and usually when you’re about to hit a quota you don’t want to waste time and die needlessly (especially with no save functionality available).
The safest and most proven way to achieve this is to work with at least one in-game partner. One person will act as bait for the bees while the other person will hide out of sight and then run in, grab the hive and take off before the bees notice. Whoever is the bait is probably destined to die during the chase, unless you’re extremely lucky and they lose interest at some point because you don’t have a hive.
Either way, for two people, this is achievable with practice, and when you pull it off successfully, you’ll be able to score a respectable 100 points for your life-defying efforts.

deadly company
Lethal Company is an early access horror game from Zeekerss that challenges players to find scraps to sell to “The Company” while avoiding death. Despite being in early access, the game has received positive reviews on Steam (97% at the time of writing). This guide focuses on one specific challenge: stealing beehives in the game, a task that players often find difficult without facing death.
If you’re looking to make some quick in-game currency by selling beehives for 100 points each, then you’ve most likely encountered the aggressive looping bees guarding those hives. Whether you’re playing alone or with friends, this guide will help you successfully steal a beehive without suffering a painful death.
Deadly Company Guide
In Lethal Company, your mission is to explore distant moons and collect scraps to sell. Here’s a simple guide:
-
Scouring the Moon: Explore abandoned buildings looking for scrap as you land on the moon with your crew. Use in-game voice chat to work together as a team and avoid irritating monsters. Watch out for dangers such as traps, turrets, and hostile creatures. It’s more dangerous at night, so get back to the ship before midnight and collect as much scrap as you can.
-
Console Terminal and Equipment: Use the console terminal to select landing sites, purchase equipment, and manage hazards. Scanners help locate waste, wildlife and key locations. Selling scrap in the company building at 71-Gordion requires placing it in an alcove and ringing a bell, but be careful; too many bells can have consequences.
-
Crew Safety and Penalties: Crews may die due to hazards and the company will charge fines. Penalties were reduced by bringing back the bodies of the crew members. Losing your entire crew means losing all your accumulated scrap. Communication and teamwork are critical to successful mission completion.
How do I get a beehive and avoid bees in Deadly Company?
In Lethal Company, you can obtain beehives by having a team member distract the bees while you grab the hive, or by waiting for the bees to leave the hive before taking it. Both approaches are risky and can result in loss of life, but successful implementation can be rewarding.
Distraction strategies:
- There are at least two players, one to lure the bees away and the other to grab the hive.
- The decoy player activates the bee’s aggression and quickly escapes, while the second player captures the hive and escapes.
- Timing is crucial; seizing a hive too early or too late can lead to an attack.
Waiting game strategy:
- Wait for a nearby swarm of bees to fly away from the hive.
- Keep a safe distance (about two to three player bodies) from the hive.
- When the bees reach a safe distance, pick up the hive and run away quickly.
- Luck is important, as the bees may return and discover the theft, but keeping enough distance improves your chances of success.

In Lethal Company, each piece of equipment is worth 80 Scrap, and you can find them in facilities on various moons. When you first get it, its price is shown as “???”, but when you sell it on the corporate moon, you’ll receive the regular 80 scrap value. Despite its mysterious initial price, it’s a standard product that can help you achieve your profit goals.
Where can I find the gadgets in Lethal Company?
The device is the battery that powers the lunar facility, and you’ll find it in a room sometimes surrounded by smoke.
To steal it, you need to turn off the power. Taking away the device causes the lights to go out and everything goes dark. However, carrying it won’t hurt you, it will just make you heavier. It’s safer to grab it at the end of your run so you don’t have to rely solely on a flashlight.
Look for fire exits for a quick escape, but be careful of any monsters nearby.

How to sell equipment in Lethal Company?
Once you bring the device back to your ship, you can send it back to your company’s moon along with the rest of your cargo and sell it for 80 credits, bringing you one step closer to achieving your profit quota. While it’s not enough to fulfill the entire quota on its own, it can be a significant difference between a successful run and a failed one.
To reach your company moon, go to your ship dock and enter “moon” before entering “company”. This sets your destination to your company, where you can leave your ship with your goods, place everything on the table, and receive your money.
