The game provides an immersive experience in both single-player and multiplayer modes, catering to the preferences of different players.

The creative inspiration behind Enshrouded can be traced back to popular games such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Hall of Valhalla. While the combat mechanics are influenced by the challenging Soulsborne games, Enshrouded deliberately strays away from extreme difficulty.

The developers designed it to be a more accessible and engaging experience, especially for players less familiar with the intricacies of the survival game genre. This approach reflects the game’s commitment to providing an enjoyable and inclusive gaming experience for diverse audiences.

How to survive longer in the Shroud?

In Enshrouded, the most prominent feature is the Shroud—a thick fog that surrounds specific areas of the vast game world. Moving through this fog triggers a noteworthy gameplay element: a five-minute timer appears at the top of the screen.

This unique feature sets Enshrouded apart from other open world survival crafting games. Shroud introduces a key dynamic that requires players to not only battle unsettling enemies lurking in the shadows, but also ensure they reach a safe zone free of fog in a timely manner.

Failure to reach a safe zone within the allotted time frame causes the character to succumb to the adverse effects of corruption, exacerbating the challenge of survival.

Additionally, it is important to note that the fog-filled areas of the game are decorated with lamp posts. While exploring, players may see lights illuminating their surroundings, providing visual clues to guide them along a designated path to ultimate safety.

This element of discovery and navigation adds a layer of complexity to the gameplay, emphasizing the importance of awareness and strategic action in Enshrouded’s misty landscapes.

To prolong your survival in the Shroud, consider the following strategies:

  • Reset timer:

    • Utilize the Hourglass Capsule (similar to a small container with a reddish glow) to refill your Shroud timer to the maximum.
    • Note that interacting with these capsules will make them temporarily unavailable in the game.
    • Keep an eye out for benches and once spotted, interact with them to reset the Shroud timer.
  • Strengthen the Altar Fire:

    • Extend your stay in the Shroud by amplifying the flames of the Altar of Fire.
    • Visit the Altar of Fire and select the option to strengthen the altar from the menu that opens.
    • This menu provides a list of items required to upgrade your fire level.
    • Each fire level upgrade increases the shroud’s duration by one minute.
    • The default is 5 minutes, a single Altar of Fire upgrade increases this to 6 minutes, and the final upgrade increases it to 10 minutes.
    • Please note that gathering the required materials may take some time.
  • Shroud Survival Potion:

    • Using the Shroud Survival Bottle in the game can extend the duration of the Shroud.
    • Each use of the flask adds two minutes to your remaining time.
    • Find these potions in treasure chests, or craft them after unlocking the Alchemist.
  • Return beacon:

    • Return beacons are designated as spawn points for characters when they die, and will top up your timer when you stand near them.
    • Strategically utilize return beacons to allow you to return to specific locations and gain extra time as needed.
