Benny Blanco may be famous for creating some of the biggest pop hits of the past two decades, but his hygiene habits are a bit questionable.
The music producer, who has worked on songs such as “TikTok”, “Teenage Dream”, “Same Old Love” and “Circus”, spoke with Everybody after being named one of the Sexiest Men on the Planet, where he talked about his hygiene habits. During his conversation with them, he shared that he doesn’t shower every day.
Speaking to the publication about his self-care tips, Benny said: “Don’t stink. Do all those things. I really think it’s important to have good skin. I have an expert facials and she changed my life. I do whatever she says.” . Her name is Lindsay and she works at Artisan of Skin. Wow, I just plugged her ear: Can I get a discount?
However, it was Benny’s subsequent comments that caused controversy.
“I also don’t believe in always washing or conditioning my hair. I’m really clean but don’t shower every day. Some people I know shower two to three times a day, but I feel like oil.” Your skin doesn’t have time to rejuvenate and plump,” Blanco added.
Explaining more about himself, Blanco continued: “I like to use hodgepodge. I want to smell it [like] cigarettes, but also likes cotton candy. I want to smell good when I walk by. I want it to smell a little masculine, a little feminine – I’m definitely a little more feminine in every way.”
His comment was met with immediate backlash and people shared their thoughts on the post from Everybody on Instagram.
“Aroma ???? 🤨🤨 in the old days it was called BO,” one person shared.
“Bring back the secrets,” said another.
“He doesn’t shower every day…? Sweet Benny but wait,” another added.
“Is this like a social experiment or some kind of joke?” quipped a separate Instagram user.
Blanco is currently dating Selena Gomez and the pair have sparked engagement rumors over the past year when they appeared coy on the subject.
“We always make sure we are protecting what we have, but there are no rules,” Gomez said. Vanity fair earlier this year. “I want him to always be himself. I always want to be myself.”
