O’Shea Jackson Sr. (born June 15, 1969) is an American rapper, actor, and film producer, known internationally by his stage name Ice Cube.
He was one of the leading voices in the gangsta and political rap scene of the 80s and 90s. He formed the pioneering gangsta rap band NWA and co-wrote the 1988 album Straight Outta Compton.
Ice Cube has starred in numerous box-office hits since his debut in Boyz n the Hood (1991). In 2016, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

early life
Ice Cube was born on June 15, 1969, to Hosea Jackson and Doris Benjamin. The Jacksons named their son O’Shea Jackson Jr. He is an African American.
Ice Cube’s mother was a hospital clerk and administrator, while his father was a mechanic and a gardener at UCLA.
He had an older brother, Clyde Ray Jackson. His half-sister, Beverly Jean Brown, was murdered when he was 12. The Jacksons lived on Van Wyck Street in the Westmont neighborhood of South Los Angeles.
