early life
Ice-T’s biological name is Tracy Lauren Marrow. He was born on February 16, 1958. His parents are African-American, father Solomon Marrow and mother Alice Marrow.
Ice-T was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. Later, his family moved to Summit, New Jersey, where he spent his final years growing up.
Ice-T’s father was a conveyor belt mechanic for the Rapistan Conveyor Company. He lost his mother to a heart attack when he was in the third grade.
Solomon Marlowe raised Ice-T as a single father for several years before he died when Ice-T was 13. After his father’s death, he moved in with an aunt in the View Park-Windsor Hills neighborhood in South Los Angeles.
