Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan (born 15 March 1977) is a respected Indian Army officer. He served as a gallant officer in the 51st Special Action Group (51 SAG) of the National Security Guards (NSG).

Early life and education
Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, a brave and honorable individual, was born on 15 March 1977, at Cheruvannur, in Kozhikode district of Kerala. He was fortunate to be the only son of his parents, K. Unnikrishnan and Dhanalakshmi Unnikrishnan.

On the fateful day of November 26, 2008, a horrific incident took place in Mumbai. A group of ten heavily armed terrorists unleashed chaos and terror at various locations, including Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. In an act of bravery and selflessness, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan bravely joined National Security Force The (NSG) team quickly deployed to the besieged hotel with the noble mission of rescuing the innocent hostages trapped inside.
Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s actions during this operation were remarkable, as he displayed extraordinary courage and demonstrated strong leadership skills. His efforts resulted in the successful rescue of several hostages and the killing of several terrorists. Tragically, Unnikrishnan lost his life while valiantly trying to save a young girl, leaving behind a legacy of selflessness and heroism.
