Oasis may have found the support act for their highly anticipated reunion tour in 2025.
On Tuesday, the band announced they would be reuniting for a UK and Ireland tour, declaring on Facebook, “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come and see. This will not be televised.”
Following the announcement, all eyes are now on potential supporting artists for the reunion show.
According to The Sun, The Courteeners, a Manchester-based indie band, dropped the big news over the weekend that they could be supporting Oasis on their reunion tour this summer.
Not only were the Courteeners inspired by Oasis, but frontman Liam Fray was also good friends with Liam Gallagher.
Gallagher has chosen Fray as the main support act for his upcoming Liam Gallagher and Friends Malta Weekender festival next month.
Insiders told the outlet that The Courteeners may have hinted that they would be providing support at the Gallagher brothers’ reunion when Oasis’ classic “Morning Glory” was played during the indie band’s set at the recent Victorious Festival in Portsmouth, England.

“When the band played ‘Morning Glory’ over the weekend, it really got the crowd going,” said an unnamed source.
“But then when the Oasis reunion announcement came out on Tuesday it all suddenly made sense,” they said.
The insider continued, “Courteeners couldn’t be a better choice for a support act if that really is such a bold suggestion — especially if they play them at Heaton Park.”
“Maybe the two Liam brothers could sing a song together? That would be awesome,” they added.
However, fans will have to wait to find out who will be opening for Oasis’ show.
Meanwhile, three UK shows have recently been added to Oasis’ 2025 tour.
Additional stops are Heaton Park in Manchester on July 16, Wembley in London on July 30 and Murrayfield in Edinburgh on August 12, according to Noel Gallagher.
The original dates were announced as Principality Stadium on 4 and 5 July; Heaton Park on 11, 12, 19 and 20 July; Wembley Stadium on 25 and 26 July and 2 and 3 August; Murrayfield Stadium on 8 and 9 August; and Croke Park on 16 and 17 August.
Tickets for the band’s show, expected to be the highlight of next year, go on sale on Saturday.
