Early life and education
Innocent Chukwuma, a Nigerian, was born on 1 October 1961 in Umudim, Nnewi, Anambra State. The youngest of six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Chukwuma Mojekwu, he comes from a close-knit family. One of his older brothers is Charles Chukwuma.
His educational journey began at St. Stephen’s Elementary School in Uru-Umudim, where Chukwuma completed his primary education. He continued his education at Holy Ghost College in Umuahia for secondary school, demonstrating a persistent commitment to knowledge.

Innocent Chukwuma ventured into the thriving spare parts industry in South Eastern Nigeria before founding Innoson Group. The group includes Innoson Production And Innoson Technology and Industry Co., Ltd..
In 2007, Chukwuma introduced Innoson car manufacturingInitially focusing on bicycles and tricycles, the business expanded into automobile assembly over time, making Innoson cars widely accessible across Africa, beyond Nigeria.
A recipient of numerous awards, Innocent Chukwuma has received accolades throughout his career. In 2013, he was named Nigeria’s Businessman of the Year, in recognition of his exceptional achievements in business.
