Ice Spice has issued an apology after an appearance at a festival in Australia fell through.

Before that, the rapper is scheduled to perform at the Beyond the Valley festival and at several stages of the Wildlands Festival. During her Wildlands show in Brisbane, she was scheduled to perform between 10:30pm and 11pm. However, she did not appear in public until 10:55 p.m. Billboard report.

She was only able to perform two songs before the third song was cut. Ultimately, Ice Spice was called “disrespectful” by journalist Brenton Larney. Guardian report.

He claimed that the rapper was even given flowers for her birthday and she refused them.

Now, Ice Spice has spoken out about the incident during the Wildlands leg in Perth.

“I’m sorry guys, surely you can forgive me. It’s my birthday and it took a long time to look like Barbie,” she shared before leading the next song in another appearance, as reported by Youth Jam.

The criticism of Ice Spice and her latest festival performance comes after the rapper had a difficult year on the charts. After taking the scene by storm in 2023 with high-profile collaborations with Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift, she’s struggled to regain her previous level of chart success.

Her highest-achieving single of 2024 barely cracked the top 40 on the charts Billboard Hot 100 chart and she only charted one other single from her debut album, Y2K! However, it couldn’t even make it into the top 50.

Y2K! debuted and peaked lower than the previous peak of her debut EP Alike…?, reached 18th place while Alike…? reached 15th place on the chart Billboard Chart 200. Additionally, the deluxe edition of her album failed to make much of a chart impact as it debuted with only 4,800 chart units.
