Shawn Mendes recently opened up to fans about his sexuality during an emotional moment during his “For Friends and Family Tour” at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.
The Canadian singer shares about his journey of striving to be brave while admitting he’s still in the process of figuring it all out.
“There is an issue about my sexuality and people have been talking about it for a long time,” he said.
The “Stitches” hitmaker added that it’s “a little silly, because I think sex is an incredibly complicated thing and it’s hard to put into a framework.”
He continued, “The real truth about my life and my sexuality is, man, I’m just figuring it out like everyone else.”
Mendes’ words rang with hurt as he detailed how the experience repeatedly violated his thoughts.
“And I find it really scary because we live in a society where there’s so much to say about that. And I’m trying to be really brave and allow myself to be a human being and feel take everything. And that’s all I really want to say.” about that now,” he said.
During the first performance of her new song “The Mountain,” the 26-year-old pop star touched on the topic of sex, telling the audience, “And I guess I’m just talking freely now, Because I just want to be able to get closer to people and live my truth.”
Despite rumors surrounding his personal life, Mendes has consistently maintained a public presence with women, including fellow musician Camila Cabello.
Sabrina Carpenter has also made waves with her latest release, “Taste,” a sharp-tongued song that has sparked speculation about its intended targets, possibly Mendes and Cabello.
