Early life

Jacinta Ocansey was born on October 6 to Alex Ocansey and Eucharia Ocansey. She is the only daughter of the family.

Although her parents are Ghanaian, she was born in Nigeria, which gave her Nigerian citizenship.

She spent her formative years in Nigeria before moving back to Ghana to pursue her higher education. A very artistic woman, she was known for her jokes that would amuse her friends and family growing up.

Gifted with a beautiful voice, she joined the church choir as a teenager and this helped her become a better singer.

Jacinta Ocansey obtained the first Senior Secondary Certificate in Nigeria.

She obtained her West African School Certificate in Nigeria. She also took a course at NIIT.

She moved to Ghana and enrolled at Pentecost University College. She earned a degree in Mass Communication from the university.

Career

Jacinta Ocansey never intended to become a comedian. But after her mother encouraged her to pursue the profession, she decided to give it a try.

Since she joined the industry, luck has been on her side. She has performed in several shows in Nigeria, Ghana and the UK.

In 2015, she performed at Akwaaba UK Comedy Night, held at the Movenpick Hotel. While in 2016, she appeared on stage at the Lord Of The Ribs Comedy Show in Ghana.

Other programs she has participated in include; MMC Live, Silverbird Comedy Night, DKB Point Of View, Corporate Comedy Series, Comedy Night With Buchi, Shakara and the Gang, Live Comedy Thursdays, Easter Comedy Show, Comedy Express, Girltalk, Lord Of The Ribs and Comedy Bar.

Thanks to her comedic talent, she has been hired as an MC for various social and corporate events.

Not long ago, she released the single Gyrate, featuring Ethel Eshun.
