Jack Antonoff Celebrates Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Wild’ Success in Music

Jack Antonoff couldn’t be prouder of Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter’s success.

In an interview on Today, Antonoff discussed Swift and Carpenter’s recent accomplishments in the music industry.

“It’s amazing,” Antonoff said of the pop star’s success, describing both as “the most amazing.”

Antonoff was responsible for producing Taylor Swift’s record-breaking album, The Tortured Poet Departmentcalled its success “crazy”.

Additionally, he revealed his creative process behind these two records.

“I work not too far away, I work at a studio called Electric Lady and I live on the top floor – it’s like a little apartment there,” Antonoff explains. “We do all the records there and when a lot of people hear them, it feels great because we’re surrounded by them.”

Regarding his writing process, Antonoff detailed how he gets inspired to write.

“You don’t hear a lot of good songs about lunch. So the things that you don’t really understand and that make you miserable are often the things worth writing about,” the Grammy-winning producer said, adding that he needs to be “pushed” to write music.

Antonoff’s production style has come under a lot of public criticism recently, especially after he was announced as one of the producers for Carpenter’s upcoming new album, Short and Sweet.

Carpenter had a few words to say to Antonoff’s haters in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine.

“F**k them all,” Carpenter said. “I think he’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever met. When he’s in the room, he can touch every instrument in the room and make it sound magical. He also works very quickly, which I really appreciate because I work very quickly.”

Antonoff also praised Carpenter in an article for Rolling Stone magazine, saying she was becoming “one of the greatest young pop stars”.

“…that song is a statement about self-expression, not just lyrically but sonically,” Antonoff said of Carpenter’s “Please Please Please.” “I think the aesthetic of not giving a fuck or the aesthetic of telling the truth has become so popular that a lot of people pander to that concept instead of being that concept. Sabrina is really that.”
