Early life and education
Jack Renfrey Tame was born on 4 March 1987 in Christchurch, New Zealand. He was raised by his parents, Linda Tame, a principal at Golden Bay High School, and John Tame, an accountant. Jack grew up with his siblings, although their names were not revealed to the media.
Tame attended St Martin’s Primary School in Christchurch and then Cashmere High School before graduating from the New Zealand Broadcasting School at CPIT. He is New Zealander and Christian.
Career
Jack Tame has established himself as one of New Zealand’s most successful broadcasters. From an early age, Tame gained valuable experience interning at TVNZ Breakfast program while still in broadcasting school. This led to his debut on A news when I was 19 years old.
Tame then spent five years as a correspondent for TVNZ in New York City, covering major news events such as the Sandy Hook shootings and reporting on the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay. Back in New Zealand, he co-hosted the popular show Breakfast performed for two and a half years.
Since 2019, Tame has hosted Q&Aa prominent political and current affairs interview show. He is also on radio, hosting Saturday mornings on Newstalk ZB and working on Breakfast programme.
