Famous actor James Arness was born James King Arness on May 26, 1923, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the elder of two sons of traveling salesman Rolf Sickler Arness and newspaper columnist Ruth Dussler Arness.
Arnes’ father is Norwegian and his mother is German. He has a younger brother named Peter Graves.
James Arness attended John Burroughs Elementary School, Washburn High Schooland West High School in Minneapolis. He could have been a better student, but he often skipped classes.
