Jane Wiedlin, Go-Go’s Lee Greenwood and others weigh in on Trump’s guilty verdict

Donald Trump made history on Thursday (May 30) by becoming the first US president to be convicted of a crime when a jury in New York found him guilty of falsifying financial documents to cover up payments to the throne. Porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.

The news caught the attention of at least a few famous musicians, who took to social media to share their thoughts.

Jane Wiedlin, a guitarist in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame who introduced the Go-Go’s, was among the most vocal, sharing several posts to her Instagram and Facebook accounts.

First, Wiedlin posted a screenshot of MSNBC with Rachel Madow on the screen and an image noting the former president was found guilty on 34 counts with the headline “Donald Trump Found Guilty on All Counts.” Wiedlin captioned the post: “Finally, justice!”

Hours later, Wiedlin shared a “Trump List of Firsts” carousel, documenting many of the former president’s less-than-stellar accomplishments. She captioned that post, “He is Numero Uno. #KarmasABitch.” Others, including Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band guitarist Stevie Van Zandt simply shared the news. “Guilty on all 34 counts,” he posted.

Guilty on all 34 counts.

Among the most vocal musicians is Mikel Jollett, frontman of alt-rock band Airborne Toxic Event. Jollett posted several posts related to Trump’s conviction on X, formerly Twitter.

“Honestly, I don’t understand the argument that Trump was the victim of a political attack,” he wrote in a post. “Biden did not convict him, the jury did. Unanimous. Even the jury that said he had heard from Truth Social voted to convict ON ALL 34 CRIMES. “

Biden didn’t convict him, the jury did. Agreed.

Even the juror who said he heard from Truth Social voted to convict ALL 34 CRIMINALS.

While noted Trump supporters Kid Rock and Ted Nugent did not weigh in when we last checked, another vocal Trump supporter showed no signs of changing his mind as a result of his conviction. If it’s true, “I’m Proud to Be an American” singer Lee Greenwood reposted a photo with Trump with a caption encouraging supporters to buy Bibles to help the former president. “President Trump and America need your prayers!” Greenwood posted. “He’s trying to protect the constitution for all of us! Support him and get your Bible today!”
