DeMarcus co-founded a Christian music group called East to West and later moved to Nashville. After the group broke up, he convinced his second cousin Gary LeVox to come to Nashville and mix the album he was producing. They became English’s backup band and road manager, receiving a Dove Award nomination for Inspirational Song of the Year.
DeMarcus met Joe Don while working as bandleader for Chely Wright. When their guitarist unexpectedly left, DeMarcus asked Joe Don to replace him and take over the role. He has produced albums for various artists, including James Otto, Jo Dee Messina, Austins Bridge and Chicago.
DeMarcus and his bandmates appeared on the show Crime Scene Investigation (CSI). DeMarcus suffered amnesia after being electrocuted by his bass guitar during a performance, but he recovered by the end of the episode.
