Jay Lewis talks about American Ninja Warrior

Jay Lewis is a fan of American Ninja Warrior before he decided to enter the contest. He fell in love with the show after watching it with his grandparents. He explained to NH Register“We really enjoyed watching it, but at the time it was just something that whenever we went [to his grandparents’ house] one week in the summer we will see it”.

“But then we started thinking about it and we were like, ‘We really like this show,’ and we started recording and watching the season,” Jay added. He played soccer, but the athleticism of the ninja competition appealed to him. So to practice, he built his own obstacle course at home.

Jay claims he became addicted to ninja training after taking a trial class in his hometown of Connecticut. He began competing with a ninja team at the gym, which gave him the opportunity to sign up. American Ninja Warrior Junior in 2018. Jay was a semi-finalist at the time.

He then received an invitation to participate in the 12th season of American Ninja Warrior. However, the pandemic delayed his plans. After participating American Ninja Warrior In season 13, Jay also fought Joe Moravsky, his mentor and current rival, in The All-Star Event.

Jay also shared about the difference between the kids and adult versions. According to NH Register“It’s definitely the format of just getting through the track to advance, which is something I really like,” he explains. “In ‘Junior,’ it’s very different in that it feels like you don’t just have to get through the track, you have to beat the person you’re racing against… When I was on the show, my only goal was to hit the buzzer. I wasn’t worried about getting the fastest time or anything like that.”

Jay Lewis, the young man known as Jay Lache, who is famous for his powerful lache technique, is used to the glamour of the World Championships. He was one of 10 teenagers in 2019 to reach Stage 3. In the 2020 Youth Adult category, he repeated the feat, reaching Edge of Dreams with the second fastest time and finishing second at the World Championships.

The Team Send City member completed Leg 2 in the fastest time with great determination, giving him a chance to be the last racer in Leg 3. Since there were no obstacles in front of Jay, all he had to do was reach Cheese Wedges in the fastest time, which meant he had to beat his arch-nemesis, Edge of Dreams.

Many had predicted that 2021 would be the year an Elite athlete successfully won Stage 3. With Joe Moravsky, the current world champion, and his coach by his side, Jay missed the first shot, but he quickly realized that he was fast enough, and our new world champion was immediately overjoyed.

In July 2021, Jay became the first NNL Elite World Champion. He posted on his IG, “Winning the NNL Finals has been a goal of mine for the past few years and to be able to do it in my first year of the Elite Division is a blessing.”

Jay added that he has been training for six years now. Speaking to NHRegister, he shared, “I did one semester and then I got added to the competitive team they had there. When I started, there wasn’t any national competition like there is now with the National Ninja League, but they added it a year after I started in 2016.”

In terms of education, Jay is a senior at Cheshire High School. In 2021, he added that he doesn’t know which school he will attend as long as it has a ninja gym nearby.

Jay is currently majoring in sports management at Syracuse University.
