Jay-Z is celebrating his birthday by releasing a coffee table book, but it’s not the best of times for the rapper.
According to Hollywood Reporter, HOV’s Book: Tribute To JAY-Z will be released on December 4 to celebrate his 55th birthday. The book includes 432 pages and covers his illustrious career, the newspaper said.
The new book will come in three versions, priced from $120 to $2,000. It will include original recordings, stage outfits, interviews, videos, awards and unseen photos, as well as the guitar Jay-Z played at the 2008 Glastonbury Festival , where he became the first hip-hop artist to headline the famous event as well as many other career milestones.
However, the latest venture comes at a bad time for Jay-Z as his latest business venture, Monogram – a premium cannabis brand – has closed. It was reported that the reason or closure was due to financial losses amounting to half a billion dollars since its founding in 2020.
Some of the products include pre-rolled joints and cannabis flowers packaged in a sleek black design, targeting the high-end market segment at a premium price point.
Each joint sold by the company costs 50 USD. The company previously generated $334 million in revenue in its first year but quickly lost money after that.
Additionally, Jay-Z and his wife Beyoncé have been criticized for their relationship with Diddy amid the rapper’s ongoing legal battle, although there is no evidence that they are related to any illegal activity. Candace Owens previously accused the couple of dodging questions about their connection to the Bad Boy Records founder when she went after Beyoncé for supporting Kamala Harris in the presidential race by citing rumors It has not been verified that she was paid to support Harris — Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, publicly shut down.
“Ten years ago, Beyoncé and Jay-Z were telling us who to vote for, it was going to be important. But now that’s not the case. It’s honestly frustrating,” Owens said.
However, she then turned her attention to Jay-Z.
Owens added: “If you want to start by confirming, maybe give us some answers about Diddy’s parties. Your husband is very close to him.”
“I really want to warn you to watch which way the wind is blowing. Because it’s not in your favor,” she concluded.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z have remained silent about their connection to Diddy, but their lawyers have fought against the baseless accusations. Piers Morgan has been forced to apologize over allegations his former guest Jaguar Wright made about the couple while on his show Piers Morgan Uncensored. During her segment on the show, Wright called Diddy and Jay-Z “monsters”. In addition, she also accused the couple of having many victims.
“Jaguar Wright suddenly made some serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé in that interview. Like I said, right now, they weren’t around to respond or defend. But now they are ,” Morgan said on air.
The couple’s attorney reached out to Morgan after the segment and pointed out the “completely false” allegations against them.
Morgan shared that they have since removed mention of the couple from Wright’s interview.
“However, like the proverbial fire in a crowded theater, we also have legal limits. And we apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé,” Morgan concluded.
