She was born into a Catholic family and spent her childhood on the East Coast, Long Island, with her brother Chris Currivan and sister Audrey Currivan.
Jean Currivan Trebek’s brother, Chris Currivan, is a year and a half older than Jean. He was born with a congenital disorder, ‘Hydrocephalus’, a condition where excess fluid puts pressure on the brain.
As a result, he suffered from numerous physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. Jean grew up in the care and needs of his older brother.
