9-1-1: Lone Star actor John Clarence Stewart says that at age 25, he made a life-changing decision that had a profound impact on him and his parents. And he takes full responsibility for it! But that’s a conversation for another day.
Today, we will take a closer look at his parents’ lives.
Who were John Clarence Stewart’s parents?
John Clarence was the son of JeJuan and John Stewart Jr. So this means John is the third child in his name.
Now, let’s talk a little bit about when he said his decision affected his parents in a profound way. Back in 2019, in an interview, he was asked how he connected to his role in The Whipping Man. “It’s like being myself at 25. I’m my mother’s and my father’s son, but I’m my own person, and the decisions I make affect me in a profound way. And they affect the people around me. I can’t blame anyone else no matter how I justify it. At the end of the day, I made a choice to do it or not to do it. The choice is what really connects me to John,” he said.
He added that they were similar in the “fatherless” case when they were on the verge of becoming young men. “I went through a period of hurting people around me. I didn’t know that my choices affected people the way they did,” he explained.
After The Whipping Man, he continued to appear in a few television shows before finally landing the role of Joe in Fox’s 9-1-1: Lone Star. His character in the film is introduced as the new love interest of Marjan Marwani (played by Natacha Karam).
