Jelly Roll has caused a storm of criticism on social media site X, signaling the possibility of leaving the platform again.
The 39-year-old country star made a direct and impactful statement: “This is without a doubt the most toxic negative app to ever exist – PERIOD. lol.”
“This place is so different man, I always heard it was the Wild West here but man, it’s crazy.”
The singer concluded: “It’s a safe place for people to say mean things to each other without any consequences. I’m out haha.”
This is definitely the most toxic negative app that ever existed – PERIOD. laugh. This place is so different, I’ve always heard it’s the Wild West here but oh my god, it’s crazy. It’s a safe place for people to say mean things to each other without consequences. I went out, laughing loudly

Amid his decision, the “Wild Ones” hitmaker noticed social media users sharing their thoughts with him. They suggested he should support free speech, be tougher on trolls and stop negativity.
User X @USApe_ said: “It’s freedom of speech, my boy. Good and bad. I’d rather do it this way.”
@imhighlyversed added: “Country artists feel hurt and let the social media trolls win… That’s not very country in my opinion. Be tough buttercup.”
“I think so too but you just need to block the negativity and not engage. After a few weeks the algorithm will delete your feed. Free speech is valuable. Everything on the apps Other applications are strictly censored,” @AnnaRMatson tweeted.
According to @ndkla75, “If you follow the right people.. it’s great. Just like life, you get to choose who’s by your side.”
“Your feed is a reflection of what you engage with. If you don’t make time in your day for the haters and actively start clicking “not interested in this post” when you see something that you don’t like, you’ll immediately see an improvement in the content showing up on your feed,” @luke_brocks wrote.
Many recommend curating his feed to follow positive influences, allowing the algorithm to filter out unwanted content over time.
@StephenFultz stated: “Yesterday, a woman here just praised you for helping her through the pain of losing her child. If you’re looking for hate, you can find it.”
He continued, “If you look for good, you will find it too. Hate is sold in our culture so it will always be at the top of your feed until you proves that it’s not interesting. Even then, it will be part of the algorithm until society changes. But no one really cares whether someone comes or goes honestly without protection our feelings.”
@AliceJones0709 also stated: “Public spaces certainly allow people to say whatever they want, negative and positive, right or wrong.”
“You don’t have to accept it. You can keep scrolling through it. You don’t have to believe in it, you can study it, you can choose or you can ignore it. You have a choice. You choose what What you read, what you believe, and what you take with you or leave, it’s all up to you.”
Following the tweet, the singer’s profile on X remained active, leaving uncertainty as to whether he intended to deactivate it completely.
This isn’t the first time Jelly Roll has taken a break from social media. In April, according to Bunnie XO’s wife, the male singer decided to leave because of weight-related bullying.
