Howard is coming off an impressive college career heading into his freshman season with the Michigan Wolverines in 2022-23. The season started on November 7, 2022, with a victory over Purdue University Fort Wayne. Howard scored 21 points in his debut and made a significant contribution. The performance made him the first Wolverine player to score more than 20 points in his debut since Jamal Crawford accomplished the feat in 1999.
Howard’s stellar start to the season earned him the All-Big Ten Freshman Award for the week ending November 13, 2022.
