Early life
Jodie Lee Ann Sweetin was born in Los Angeles, California on January 19, 1982. She was adopted and raised by her uncle, Sam Sweetin. Both of her parents were in prison at the time.
Sweetin was adopted when she was nine months old, but because her biological father was Native American, her adoption was not official until she was two years old.
Sweetin studied dance as a child. She began studying ballet and tap dancing at the age of three. She attended Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California, and later attended Chapman University in Orange, California.
Career
Sweetin was cast as a guest star in Valerie after appearing in several national commercials. Her most famous role to date was Stephanie Tanner, cast by Jeff Franklin on the ABC comedy series Full House from 1985 to 1995.
Sweetin finally got the lead role in the film Port City, Redefining Love and Isolated. She also starred in Small Bits of Happiness, five episodes of the web series Can’t Get Arrested, and was the host of season 2 of the dance competition Pants-Off Dance-Off.
