Early life
Jody Allen was born in Wedgwood, Seattle, Washington, on February 13, 1959, to Kenneth Sam Allen, associate director of the University of Washington Libraries, and Edna Faye Allen, a Seattle school teacher.
She is the younger sister of Paul G. Allen. She attended Lakeside School in 1975 and Whitman College in 1980, where she majored in theater. Allen attended Washington State University, where she earned a degree in economics.
Career
Jody Allen and her brother Paul founded Vulcan Inc. in 1986 to oversee their family’s commercial and philanthropic initiatives. She is currently vice president of First & Goal Inc., which manages the business operations of the Seattle Seahawks.
She was involved in the negotiations that led to the development of Lumen Field in Seattle, and she advised her brother when he first explored owning the Seahawks. She has made it her mission to give back to charity.
She is CEO and president of the Wild Lives Foundation and the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, founding director of MoPOP, Seattle’s renowned pop culture museum, and president of the Allen Institute for Brain Science.
