Career
Joe Buck joined Tim McCarver, who had previously worked with his father at CBS, as Fox’s lead anchor for Major League Baseball in 1996.
He surpassed Sean McDonough, who had covered the 1992 World Series for CBS at age 30, to become the youngest person to call a nationally televised broadcast (for nine innings and the game, as an employee of the network rather than simply a representative of one of the competing teams). After Jack Buck was fired in late 1991, Sean McDonough became CBS’s lead baseball announcer.
In April 2014, Joe Buck teamed up with Greg Norman to host Fox’s new coverage of the United States Golf Association, including the U.S. Open.
The duo made their television debut on the Franklin Templeton Shootout on December 12–14, 2014 (which Greg Norman also hosted). Greg Norman was fired from Fox in 2016 and replaced by Paul Azinger.
Joe Buck and Troy Aikman signed multi-year deals with ESPN on March 16, 2022, under which they will take over as the new lead broadcast duo of Monday Night Football beginning with the 2022 NFL season and work on ESPN+ initiatives.
With the change, Fox’s 20-year streak as the top NFL broadcaster has ended. To compensate for Joe Buck leaving Fox Sports with one year left on his contract, ESPN has agreed to move one of its Big Ten college football games to Fox for the 2022 season.
Net worth
Following in his father’s footsteps and doing well, he has made a name for himself and his fortune in the sports industry. Joe Buck has amassed an estimated net worth of $38 million.
