Joe Jonas deletes ‘Diddy’ lyrics from ‘Cake by the Ocean’ amid bombshell allegations

Joe Jonas is the latest celebrity to distance himself from rapper Diddy.

In a video posted to TikTok, Jonas removed lyrics referencing the former Bad Boy boss from his band DNCE’s song “Cake by the Ocean.”

The video was recorded while Jonas was in Lyon, France as part of the Jonas Brothers’ tour. In the song’s original lyrics, Jonas sings: “Walk for me, baby/ I’ll be Diddy, you’ll be Naomi, woah-oh.” However, in the recorded footage, Diddy’s name appears to have been omitted and only supermodel Naomi Campbell is mentioned in the song.

Jonas isn’t the only celebrity to leave out Diddy’s name in lyrics that previously featured him. Kesha did just that with her song “Tik Tok”. In April, Kesha took the stage at Coachella where she performed with Reneé Rapp. They performed together Billboard The song topped the Hot 100 but there was one big twist.

In the song, Kesha changed the lyrics from “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy” to “F— P. Diddy.”

In May, Kesha reached out to TMZ and shared that the lyric change to “Tik Tok” would most likely be permanent.

“Yes, it will be like that [permanent]… Fans should learn that for my future [shows]. I want to hear it louder than ever. I stand by that,” she told the outlet.

“I know my integrity is strong, so I tell the truth. This industry could be like sucking me to death—,” she added.

Over the past year, Diddy has been in the spotlight due to his alleged involvement in a number of crimes including sexual abuse and assault. On October 1, the rapper was hit with a new wave of lawsuits alleging he assaulted 25 minors, including a 9-year-old boy. In total, more than 120 new cases were brought against Diddy.

Diddy was arrested on September 16 and is currently being held without bail until trial. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him.
