John Legend finally speaks out about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ collaboration: ‘It’s a shame’

John Legend expressed deep disappointment over the numerous sexual assault lawsuits pending against former collaborator Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

The 45-year-old singer addressed the mounting abuse allegations against the embattled rapper, 54, and the potential Grand Jury indictment looming over him, denouncing all of them as “worthy shy”.

Furthermore, Legend addressed his reaction to the resurfaced and disturbing video of Combs assaulting ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, 37, in hotel surveillance footage since 2016, condemning Combs’ actions.

In an interview with CNN on Thursday, the famous singer emphasized his default stance of trusting women and reiterated the importance of bringing abuse to light when it happens.

“I was appalled by the descriptions I read before the video evidence emerged,” he said. “And certainly that’s something that needs to be brought to light when it happens.”

He also expressed regret that someone he once worked with could do something like this. However, for him, he completely trusted the girl.

“It’s a shame,” Legend said.

“I really just want accountability and hopefully some healing for all of his victims,” he added.

“My default position is to believe women when they make these accusations and make sure we do whatever we can to support women.” [making them]”, he added.

The 12-time Grammy Award winner expressed her desire for these women’s voices to be heard and for accountability and compensation measures to be enacted to restore their happiness.

He further emphasized his desire to get the best outcome for Ventura and all other individuals who have come forward with allegations of abuse against Combs.

After CNN released a 2016 surveillance video revealing Combs’ physical attack on Ventura, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office deemed the incident “extremely disturbing” but stated that it was beyond statute of limitations for prosecution.

However, the video could be used as evidence in the ongoing federal investigation involving Combs and the sex trafficking allegations.

Investigators are preparing to present Combs’ accusers to a federal grand jury in New York, according to two sources familiar with the investigation.

This seems to suggest that the US Department of Justice is moving towards prosecuting Combs. Authorities are delving deeper into the civil lawsuit, looking for potential witnesses and evidence against the star, one of the sources told CNN.

Additionally, federal investigators are investigating allegations of money laundering and illegal drug involvement, further expanding the scope of the investigation.
