early life
John Travolta was born and raised in Englewood, a small town in New Jersey. He is the youngest of six children. He was born on February 18, 1954. He has a nephew named Tom Fridley.
His father, Salvatore Travolta, was a semi-professional football player who, after retiring, went into the tire sales business and became a partner in Travolta Tire Exchange.
His mother, Helen Cecilia, was an actress, singer and director who became a high school drama and English teacher after retiring from show business.
