His father, Hayward Peale, was African-American and was born in North Carolina. His mother raised him on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
Jordan Peele attended computer school before earning a diploma from the Calhoun School on Manhattan’s Upper West Side in 1997 and attending Sarah Lawrence College.
Two years later, Jordan Peele dropped out of school to form a comedy duo with Sarah Lawrence classmate Rebecca Drysdale, who later wrote for Key & Peele.
