Before the family moved to Florida, her biological father died of a drug overdose. Hernandez actually started stripping at age 16 under the name Sheneliica Bettencourt to support her poor family and make sure her siblings had everything they needed.

Career

Hernandez rose to fame due to the show’s popularity and media attention, with guest appearances at the 2013 AVN Awards, the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards, and the 2015 BET Awards. She has made guest appearances on K. Michelle: My Life, The Wendy Williams Show, and Hip Hop Squares.

She has appeared in several hip-hop and R&B music videos with Stevie, notably Trey’s “Hail Mary”, The Game’s “I Remember”, Ciara’s “Body Party” and Faith Evans’ “I Deserve It.” Hernandez has recorded a variety of dancehall and reggaeton-influenced tunes.

In 2016, Hernandez co-starred in the spin-off series Stevie J & Joseline: Go Hollywood with Stevie. Joseline’s Special Delivery, a documentary about the birth of her child with Stevie J, aired on television the following year.

Hernandez left Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta after clashing with executive producer Mona Scott-Young and the show’s producers during filming of the season 6 reunion in 2017. In 2018, it was revealed that Hernandez was working on a television show called Joseline Takes Miami.

Hernandez shared a short teaser of “Run Me My Money” on Instagram in 2017, along with the hashtag #MONAFEA. “Run Me My Money” was quickly seen as a diss track aimed at Scott-Young.

“Playboy Bunny,” “Finger Fuck a Check,” “Gold,” “Papi Lindo,” “Mi Cualto,” “Spanish Rockstar” and “Slay” are eight of Hernandez’s original songs that she has featured. “Hate Me Now” and “No Me Importa,” are her first singles.

The track was largely interpreted as a diss track aimed at Cardi B. Despite negative reviews, “Hate Me Now” peaked at number nine on HotNewHipHop’s Top 100 Songs chart due to its “beef-focused subject matter”.

Hernandez was reportedly filming Joseline Takes Miami, the latest Carlos King-sponsored TV show, in 2018. Joseline was a guest on WE tv’s talk show Bossip, where she was a commentator. Joseline Takes Miami hit production snags in 2019.

The show never aired. Joseline then signed a deal with Netflix to create, produce, and host her own reality TV franchise later that year. Joseline made a guest appearance on Bravo’s Married to Medicine in 2019. Miami premiered Joseline’s Cabaret in 2020.
