Josué Rodrigue Ngouonimba (born 17 February 1963) is a prominent Congolese politician who is sought after by many politicians in the country.

Since 2015, he has been Chairman of the Union of Democratic Forces (UFD).

He is currently the Minister of Construction, Urban Affairs and Housing in the Mouamba II government, a position he has held since August 2017.

Josué Rodrigue Ngouonimba has also been a member of the Djambala (Plateaux) National Assembly since 2012 and is considered one of the most prominent politicians in Congo.

Early life

Josué Rodrigue Ngouonimba was born in 1963 to a former Minister father.

This means that he comes from a wealthy and politically inclined family.

From a young age, his father taught him the art of politics, a skill he mastered from his father, who later became his political mentor and godfather.

He grew up in the Brazzaville region of Congo.

Education

Josué Rodrigue Ngouonimba completed primary and post-primary school in Brazzaville before going to university, where he studied Architecture and graduated with high marks.

Career

Although Josué Rodrigue Ngouonimba began his career as an architect, he has been in government since 2009, when he was announced as part of the newly reshuffled ministers following the re-election of Denis Sassou Nguesso. He was appointed Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy, Pierre Moussa, in charge of regional planning and integration. His appointment was in keeping with his profession as an architect.

Josué Rodrigue Ngouonimba was the candidate of the Union of Democratic Forces (UFD) in the 2012 elections, a party belonging to the presidential majority, in the Djambala (Plateaux) district, and was thus elected in the first round with 61.57% of the vote, and he took over on 5 September of that year.

After another cabinet reshuffle in 2012, he became Minister of Tourism and Environment, a position in which he attempted to develop various policies. He attempted to develop ecotourism in the Republic of Congo by creating a National Strategy as well as a Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism Development, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), which was well received throughout the country.

Josué Rodrigue Ngouonimba was elected President of the Alliance of Democratic Forces at the end of the first extraordinary party congress held in Sibiti (Lékoumou), and he replaced the sharp-tongued politician Martin Ntsiba, who had held the post until now.

He was later appointed Minister of Road Equipment and Maintenance in the Mouamba I government.

Again, during the cabinet reshuffle, Josué Rodrigue Ngouonimba was appointed Minister of Construction, Urbanization and Housing in the Mouamba II government in August 2017, a position he still holds to this day.
