On March 1, just days after the controversial livestream, JustAMinx received an email from Twitch informing her that the platform was suspended. The ban lasts for seven days and comes with a 90-day trial period. During this period, the popular streamer will be banned from participating in promotions and using self-service emoticon tools. She does, however, have the option to appeal the ban.
The reason behind the ban was a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines regarding self-harm and/or incapacitation during live streams. While Twitch allows moderate alcohol and marijuana use in compliance with local laws, JustAMinx’s excessive drinking exceeded what Twitch considers to be safe.
This is the streamer’s third ban on the platform, with the first ban occurring more than a year ago when she was banned for seven days for using derogatory and slanderous remarks during a live broadcast.
While Twitch’s policy enforcement has sparked controversy, leading to the emergence of competing platforms such as YouTube Gaming and Kick, JustAMinx is unlikely to switch platforms after its third ban. She is expected to resume streaming on Twitch after the ban ends.
