Justin Bieber seems to be returning to music after a long absence.

On his Instagram Stories, Bieber shared what appears to be a snippet of new music.

Over the sparse track, a voice can be heard singing: “I take it, you take the bait / Shake off the hate / Okay, okay.”

The clip was touted as a potential music video as there was a timestamp running in the video and the clip was captioned with a video camera emoji as well as a hand with a pen emoji.

The teaser for what appears to be new music comes after reports claimed that the pop star is preparing for a big return to music in 2025. Matthew Belloni of Puck News shares that Bieber will return to music this year, partly due to the debt he has to pay off. He said that the male singer “needs money and wants to work”.

The debt that Belloni may be referring to is the money Bieber owes AEG for his canceled 2023 tour.

Bieber previously made big money when he sold the rights to his music catalog for $200 million that same year.

Bieber’s introduction to new music comes after the singer created a wave of unfollows on social media, including from his former mentor Usher. The “Peaches” singer also previously unfollowed his longtime manager, Scooter Braun. The couple split in 2023 after Bieber was reportedly looking to get out of his contract with his manager, Billboard shared at the time.

Braun has previously managed other high-profile clients such as Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato. However, they also parted ways with Braun as their manager.

Bieber’s last album is in 2021 Justice, it was a return to commercial success after his lackluster performance in 2020 Change. Justice would spawn the top 10 singles “Holy”, “Anyone” and “Ghost”. He scored another number one single from the album thanks to the success of the track “Peaches”.
