Early life and education

Justin Love was born in San Francisco on November 6, 1978. He attended Washington High School and later Sacred Heart Cathedral High School, where he showed his talent and was named MVP in 1995 when the school won the West Catholic Athletic Conference Championship.

Love attended Cañada College, where he was named Junior College All-American in 1998.

He then transferred to Saint Louis University, where he led the team to NCAA Division I status, and in 2000 was named to the All-American First Team and won the tournament MVP award.

Love graduated from Saint Louis University with a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders and later earned a master’s degree in education.

In 2006, Justin Love married Katie Walter, and the couple has three children.

Profession

Love became an unrestricted free agent after being undrafted in the 2000 NBA Draft. He attended training camp with the Phoenix Suns and signed a multi-year contract on August 1, 2000. However, the Suns decided to waive him on October 25.

Love then played for the Kansas City Cavaliers in his first season in the American Basketball Association. He later accepted an invitation from BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque to play in the LNB Pro A League, but was fired after a month due to difficulty adjusting to European basketball.

Love played for various teams, including the St. Louis Skyhawks of Major League Baseball, the Beijing Olympic Team of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), and BK Ventspils of Latvia. He spent the last six years of his career playing for MBC Nikolaev and BC Odessa in Ukraine.
