Kanye West Had a Disruptive Idea to Rebrand His Brand With a Hate Symbol, Nick Fuentes Claims

White supremacist Nick Fuentes claims Kanye West once considered changing his nickname to a hate symbol.

In 2022, West — now known by his stage name Ye — shocked fans by posting a now-deleted anti-Semitic tweet that said he was “going to be executed for the 3rd time.” [sic] About THE JEWS.”

After controversial claims that being black exempted him from anti-Semitism, he suffered huge losses in fans and businesses due to his disturbing behavior.

In a recent revelation, Fuentes alleged that his former friend Ye once suggested the bold move of changing his name to the controversial symbol associated with Nazis, the swastika. Music Times could not independently verify the claim.

Speaking during a Rumble livestream, a clip of which was reposted on X, Fuentes stated, “[West] told me he wanted to change his name to a swastika. No, that’s not true. So to anyone who says I turned him into a Nazi, that’s not true.”

“[West] “He called me up one afternoon and he said, ‘So what if I change my name to a swastika?’ And he started laughing and I started dying,” the far-right political commentator added. “I was like, ‘That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever heard.’ He was like, ‘Yeah, right.’ He said, ‘Because when they say my name, they’re going to have to put a swastika on top of it. [chyron] on TV.”

Fuentes claims that West considered using the actual symbol instead of the word. The “All of the Lights” rapper reportedly explained that this meant that every time the media mentioned him, they would have to include or use the hate symbol.

“I was like, ‘Aren’t they just going to put letters?’ He said, ‘No, no, no.’ He said, ‘No, I’m not changing my name to that,'” Fuentes recalled. “He corrected me. He said his name wouldn’t be spelled ‘SWA.’ He said no, his name would be spelled as a swastika. That would be the symbol… And he was serious. I burst out laughing.”

Fuentes went on to claim that he ultimately stopped West from rebranding his brand as a Nazi symbol.

“I thought, ‘Well, why don’t we think about that?’ I thought, ‘That’s a big decision.’ I thought, ‘Maybe we should postpone that,’” he said. “But that was no joke … And that was one of many ideas that he put on the back burner.”

The streamer revealed that West saw the name change as a form of “ironic re-appropriation” of the symbol.

The rapper “Donda” found common ground with Fuentes, a Holocaust denier, during West’s 2022 anti-Semitic tirade.

Their alliance led to Fuentes joining him at a dinner meeting with former President Donald Trump in November of that year.

Fuentes played a key role in West’s second presidential bid, which ultimately ended in silence in 2023.
