Early life
Kasie Hunt grew up in Wayne, Pennsylvania and was born in Michigan. She was born on May 24, 1985.
She is the younger sister of Carly Hunt and the daughter of Bruce and Krista Hunt.
Her mother is a yoga teacher in Easton, and her father oversees real estate design and construction for Penn Medicine, the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia.
Kasie Hunt’s older sister was previously a member of the Georgetown Hoyas and Maryland Terrapins women’s golf teams.
Education
Kasie Hunt graduated from Conestoga High School in 2003. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from George Washington University in 2006.

Career
Kasie Hunt began her media career as an intern in politics for NBC News. She later worked as a health policy reporter for the National Journal’s CongressDaily, covering the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
She covered the 2010 midterm elections for Politico. She joined the Associated Press as a national political correspondent in August 2011 and covered Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign.
Kasie Hunt joined NBC News as a reporter and producer covering Congress and politics in January 2013. She began appearing on MSNBC as a political correspondent and then became a political correspondent in November 2014.
She is a contributor to msnbc.com and regularly appears on MSNBC and Bloomberg shows such as Morning Joe, Hardball with Chris Matthews and With All Due Respect.
Kasie Hunt began hosting her own talk show on MSNBC, Kasie DC, in October 2017, which aired in two parts on Sundays at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET. On September 13, 2020, the final episode of Kasie DC aired.
On September 21, 2020, Kasie Hunt took over as host of a new version of the MSNBC talk show Way Too Early, called Way Too Early with Kasie Hunt. The show aired weekday mornings from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. ET. She confirmed her departure from the channel on July 16, 2021.
CNN Communications announced on Twitter on August 10, 2021 that Kasie Hunt will be the channel’s first hire for CNN+, its new streaming service.
Kasie Hunt will be the new host in that capacity. She will also serve as Chief National Affairs Analyst, according to the announcement.
Personal life
On May 6, 2017, Kasie Hunt married NBC News producer Matthew Mario Rivera. She gave birth to her first child, a son named Mars Hunt Rivera, in September 2019.
Kasie Hunt underwent a four-hour surgery in October 2021 to successfully remove a benign brain tumour.
