early life
Kate Dennings was born on June 13, 1986, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA. Her parents are Ellen Judith Litwack, a poet and speech therapist, and Gerald J. Litwack, a molecular pharmacologist, professor and chairman.
She is the youngest of five siblings and has an older brother named Geoffrey S. Litwack.
Her parents home-schooled her, attending Friends Central School only half-days, and she graduated from high school at age 14. Kat Dennings began appearing in commercials at age 10 and became a full-time actress after moving to Los Angeles with her family and taking the Dennings last name.
