Early life
Kcee was born into the family of Chief Okonkwo and Mrs. Okonkwo in Amapatu village in Southeast Nigeria. His hometown is Uli, located in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. He was born on April 18, 1979 and was named Kingsley Chinwieke.
Kcee grew up in a Christian family, as his parents followed the Catholic faith. Therefore, he and his siblings regularly attended mass at church. Additionally, he comes from a hardworking family that values both education and entrepreneurship equally.
He spent his formative years in Anambra State before moving to Lagos, the country’s commercial hub, in search of greener pastures. One of the reasons he moved to Lagos was to achieve his dream of becoming a music star.
Kcee has a younger brother named Emeka, who is widely known by the nickname E-Money. The latter supported Kcee’s career goals and provided funds to launch his solo music career.

Kcee attended top public schools in Anambra State for her primary and secondary education.

Career
When Kcee joined the choir, he developed a friendship with Hajie, who was also interested in creating mainstream music. Together, they formed a Hip-hop group called KC Presh. The duo competed on the reality TV show Star Quest and won. This is the start of great things for Kcee and his friends. Winning the show gave them opportunities in the industry as they began their music careers.
Together, they released several hit singles, which earned them invitations to perform at shows and concerts. However, after a while, both artists decided to go their separate ways and start solo careers.
Kcee took the industry by storm when she released her chart-topping single, Limpopo, in 2012. The song was a commercial success and helped Kcee get noticed. He was nominated for an award because of the single.
The song was produced by one of the best producers in the industry, Del B. For his work with Limpopo, he won Song of the Year at the 2013 The Headies Awards.
He praised the success of the hit song Pull Over. Wizkid’s standout single received major airplay on radio stations and television stations worldwide. Additionally, it was voted as one of the top ten clubs that year.
