Alexandra Grant was born on April 4, 1973 in Ohio, USA, at the age of 50. Her father Norman was a Scottish geology professor who moved to Oberlin College in Ohio in 1969.
Her mother, Marcia, was an American political science professor and diplomat, stationed in Africa and the Middle East. Grant’s parents divorced when she was very young, and she lived with her mother in Mexico City.
Grant grew up in Mexico City, attending a multinational English school, and at age 11, she enrolled at Thomas Jefferson Boarding School in St. Louis, Missouri.
