Multi-talented rising star Keke Palmer has publicly acknowledged the many troubling aspects of her upbringing in Hollywood while promoting her self-help memoir/novel hybrid, “Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative”. She shocked the world with revelations about going bankrupt at the age of 18 as well as experiencing blatant racism on the set of Ryan Murphy’s movie. The Queen shouted.
However, her latest confession proves she has only scratched the surface. During an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Shay Shay ClubPalmer opened up about being fired by her agent after expressing discomfort while kissing her Jump in co-star Corbin Bleu, 17 years old while Palmer is 12 years old:
“It was a big thing for us because I was 12 and Corbin was 17… He was like a brother. That wasn’t the relationship we had. I remember I was on the phone with My agent and I were like, ‘You know, I’m scared of this.’ And she was like, ‘Wow, Megan Good had to kiss Samuel L. Jackson in it. Eva of the Bayou“, she shared.
She noted that she still considers it an inappropriate experience for a child, adding “I think there’s a strange thing that happens to children’s entertainers when we have to separate as much as adults in the workplace in ways that are unusual or common.”
Many fans reacted emotionally to the sentiment, agreeing that there was no reason for a 12-year-old to kiss a 17-year-old.
12 year old Keke Palmer from Jump In and 17 year old Corbin Bleu… were confused why Disney made them kiss. That could have been avoided, seriously.

Palmer also revealed during her appearance that she became a millionaire that same year, following other major starring roles such as Akeelah and the Bee. This has helped her become the breadwinner for her entire family. Palmer’s parents hired a business manager – a strategic decision to ensure financial transparency.
“They want me to know that they are not the ones controlling my money,” Palmer said. They heard these stories and my mother said I don’t want money to come between me and my child.” Shay Shay Club.
