Nowadays, buying concert tickets is no longer as easy as before. From complicated presale codes to dodging scalpers, it’s hard to score tickets and see your favorite artists live.
The most common complaint among live music fans, however, is that concert tickets are unaffordable, an issue that arises most significantly on high-profile tours like Beyonce’s. Renaissance tour and by Taylor Swift Era tour.
Kendrick Lamar announced a co-headlining tour with R&B songstress SZA earlier this week, and advance sales have proven it’s not an easy event to attend financially. While seat costs vary from city to city, many venues are asking up to $300 for higher-level seats, leaving closer seats and general admission tickets for free. thought. Some range from $600-$900, leaving die-hard fans no choice but to miss out.
Fans took to social media to express their disdain, blaming Ticketmaster for no longer taking the heart of live music and its fan community seriously. “I looked at SZA + Kendrick tickets just out of curiosity… why do I see pre-sale tickets for over $600,” a shocked fan shared via X. “Nosebleed tickets for Kendrick and SZA are $350. Ticketmaster, you’ll crumble.”
That kendrick and sza concert tickets cost more than beyoncé or taylor’s is really crazy, you announced this a day before AND during the holiday season and you want to set the price at 150-300 for UPPER seats ?? pic.twitter.com/nrDQQGLvpR

One reddit user shared that the seats they reserved for Swift’s global tour appear to be more affordable. “My partner pre-sold Taylor Swift upstairs in Toronto and spent $170 on her ticket, and a seat for Kendrick was $360.” While Swift’s extended tour made history, it provided more room, while Lamar was more elusive when on the road. This makes his shows more exclusive, increasing the value of a ticket.
Lamar and SZA’s show in Toronto, Canada, scheduled for June 12, 2025, seems to have the strangest price tag. This is due to higher demand for seats, as the show will take place in the hometown of hip-hop rival Drake, with whom Lamar has been publicly collaborating since the summer.
Some fans are opting out of the tour altogether, hoping that the next round will be more accessible. “These kendrick n sza prices- oh I’m so nauseous…guess I’ll wait for SZA’s next tour in 2028,” user X resolved. While many fans are directing their anger at the performers, others are firmly reminding fans that neither Lamar nor SZA have much control over ticket prices.
