Sir Kenneth Mathieson Dalglish MBE, commonly known as Kenny Dalglish, is a former footballer and manager who is currently a Board Member at Liverpool FC.
He took up the position in 2016, following successful spells as manager of the club from 1985 to 1991 and then from 2011 to 2012.

Early life and education
Kenny Dalglish, a famous Scottish footballer, was born on 4 March 1951 in the town of Dalmarnock. His parents, Bill Dalglish and Cathy Dalglish, played an important role in his upbringing. Kenny grew up with his older sister, Carol Dalglish, forming a close-knit family.
During his formative years at Miltonbank Primary School in Milton, Kenny initially developed his skills as a goalkeeper. He then moved to High Possil Senior School where he excelled in rugby, winning the inter-school five-a-side and inter-year five-a-side competitions.
Career
After winning numerous trophies and awards with Celtic, Kenny Dalglish made a record-breaking move to Liverpool in 1977. During his time at Liverpool, he continued his streak of success by winning numerous league titles, cups and European competitions.
Dalglish was an influential player on the pitch and was highly regarded by his teammates, winning a number of prestigious individual awards throughout his career.
Dalglish was also known for his exceptional goalscoring skills. During his illustrious career, he scored over 350 goals in various competitions.
Furthermore, his remarkable ability on the pitch earned him the privilege of representing Scotland on 102 occasions, during which he scored an impressive total of 30 goals. At the time, this outstanding achievement set a national record for Scotland.
In 1985, Dalglish began his managerial career with Liverpool. Under his leadership, the team achieved considerable success, winning three English league titles, two FA Cups, two League Cups and a European Cup Winners’ Cup during his first tenure.
In 1988, Dalglish was named Football League Manager of the Year for his exceptional managerial skills.
After leaving Liverpool in 1991, Dalglish made a triumphant return to the club in 2001. His second spell as manager was successful as he led the team to victory in the League Cup in 2003 and the FA Cup in 2006.
Additionally, under Dalglish’s leadership, Liverpool reached the 2007 Champions League final, although they were defeated by AC Milan.
