Born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 13, 1965, Samuels grew up with a passion for fashion and lifestyle from a young age. Samuels attended Millwood High School. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma. He graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Samuels worked as a manager for a Chemical Engineering company before moving on to start his YouTube channel and career coaching.

Samuels began his career working at Office Depot as a business development manager. He worked there for over three years. He joined Supermedia/Idearc Media in 2009.
