Early Life & Education
Kevin Wu, better known as KevJumba, was born in Houston, Texas, United States, on June 12, 1990. Michael Wu, his father, a Taiwanese immigrant, worked as a computer engineer.
KevJumba graduated from Clements High School in Sugar Land, Texas, in 2008 and studied for two years at the University of California, Davis before dropping out. He lived in downtown Los Angeles while working in the entertainment industry but later returned to Houston.

He was seriously injured in a car accident in June 2015. KevJumba graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in May 2019.
Personal life
On January 17, 2022, KevJumba shared on his Instagram that he got engaged to his girlfriend, Ginger. He dated Ginger for two years before proposing and the couple are now planning their wedding.
This news surprised many of KevJumba’s followers because he had never posted anything about his relationship with Ginger. But it looks like KevJumba is ready to settle down and start a new chapter with his fiancee.

KevJumba is famous for his interesting videos on YouTube. His audience grew when “I have to deal with stereotypes” video was posted on YouTube’s homepage. He discusses the stereotypes he faces as an Asian American in this video.
During his junior year of high school, KevJumba began uploading videos to YouTube. On February 26, 2008, the Los Angeles Times compared his audience to the television series Quarterlife. At the time, he was a “pretty famous YouTube blogger,” with a video with 450,000 views about how he broke his shin.
Quarterlife, picked up by NBC, has just 100,000 views on MySpace and 50,000 views on YouTube. By May 29, 2008, KevJumba had become one of three East Asians under the age of 21 to be in the top 5 most subscribed users on YouTube, with 187,000 subscribers and over 5.9 million views.
As of June 5, 2008, he was the most subscribed comedian on YouTube and the third most subscribed uploader overall. Ella Koon, Jessica Alba and Baron Davis responded to KevJumba’s videos.
Baron Davis created a “longest stare” contest for ibeatyou.com, which he and Jessica Alba’s husband, Cash Warren, co-founded in 2008. Baron Davis started the contest by challenging KevJumba, who then challenged Jessica Alba, who responded to the challenge. He began performing with Yesterday, Today, Forever (YTF) and other YouTube personalities in 2011.
On October 9, 2011, the group held their first concert in Honolulu, Hawaii. KevJumba started participating in YouTube videos on a new channel called YOMYOMF in June 2012. He has his show called KevJumba Takes All.
KevJumba has been inactive since September 27, 2013 and has no new videos uploaded to the channel. As of August 2014, he had over 3,000,000 subscribers and over 350 million total views on videos on his main channel.
The total number of views of his videos exceeds 343.9 million. KevJumba privatized his videos on the KevJumba account in early 2016, removing all public content. However, 35 videos on KevJumba’s JumbaFund channel are still accessible. The privatized videos were later re-released to the public.
