Including Edward, they have 9 children together (Michelle Jackson, Troy (Kathleen), Valerie, Pamela, Katrina, Sheri, Carolyn, Netaya and Michelle), 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Their selfless and unconditional love for them has contributed greatly to their success.

In addition to their unwavering commitment to family, Pastor and Mrs. McClain never stopped giving back to the Charleston neighborhood. Pastor Edward served on the school board and was a retired teacher and pastor of Calvary African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Pastor McClain was also a founding member of the Interfaith Pastors Alliance, in which Ms. McClain also played a major role. She and Pastor McClain established a soup kitchen. They ran the business for 17 years.
