Early life and education
Curtis Eugene Warner was born on June 22, 1971 in Burlington, Iowa, USA. He was raised by his parents Gene and Sue Warner as the youngest of two sons. His elder brother is named Matt Warner.
Warner attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated with a degree in Communications. Although Warner was not recruited by major college programs, he excelled at Northern Iowa and became the starting quarterback his senior year.

Kurt Warner was undrafted out of college and initially played in the Arena Football League (AFL) before getting a chance to play in the European NFL Euroleague. Warner signed with the St. Louis Rams in 1998.
